Hit and Run

This post will be uncharacteristically short, but I wanted to pop in to say hello and that I'm incredibly busy with school.

Next Sunday we leave for New York City for the visit with the Chiari specialists on Long Island. On Monday (April 6th), I'll be having 2 CT scans, 2 X-ray series, and 3 MRIs. On Tuesday I'll visit with a neurology team for more testing and then with the neurosurgery team who will review my results and perhaps scratch their heads and rub their chins. Hopefully none of them will have the bedside manner of Dr. Gregory House, but I hope they match his keen diagnostic skills.

What does all this mean? It means that since my research paper for Thanatology (one of them), which is due April 10th, needs to get done before I leave, I'm working my butt off. I'll have 2 more papers to complete after that. One will be due on 4/17, and the other on 5/7. That, I can do. This first one is an 18-pg monster, though.

Please forgive me for not being around your blogs as often. I don't know when I'll be able to catch up...perhaps while I'm sitting in the hotel room at night while in NYC. Perhaps when I get back. Rest assured, though, I'm still around. I miss you. I'll be back.

Peace - D

I never understood page count papers. If I can say everything that needs saying in three pages why must I concoct a bunch of bullshit for the other 15?

I will be praying for you in NY Doris.

I almost hope you have a House MD type--think about the blog fodder that would produce!! I have a soft place in my heart for Hugh Laurie, though, so my judgment is totally clouded on the issue. Know that our thoughts, prayers, and love are always with you.

Balancing blogging with anything school related is nearly impossible. Blogging always took a back seat for me.

I wish you the best of luck with wrapping up everything. Say adieau to the blogosphere for as long as you need to. We'll all still be here when you are ready to return.

Doris, before I read your paragraph about House, MD, I'd actually thought, 'Time to call in House.' Then again, I just watched that show last night.

You will be in my thoughts, my dear. Sending you my well-wishing for the completion of your academic work, and calmness during your procedures. And yes, let's pray for your doctors to be guided to a solution for you.

That's a whole lot on your plate. And all these tests, sorry, I think screw that paper. I'll save all my best for the tests.
